An applicant for Fellow in the American College of Pediatricians shall satisfy the following criteria:
1. Certification in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics or the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics, or any other certification as determined by the Board of Directors.
2. Demonstration of evidence of high ethical and professional standing.
3. Fellows shall have the privilege to vote, serve on committees and hold office.
4. Annual Dues: $225.00
An applicant for Specialty Fellow in the American College of Pediatricians shall satisfy the following criteria:
1. Licensed physician, other than a pediatrician, credentialed by an American Board in a pediatric discipline, or documented training devoting 50% or more time to pediatric patients
2. Demonstration of evidence of high ethical and professional standing.
3. Specialty Fellows shall have the privilege to vote, serve on committees and hold office.
4. Annual Dues: $225.00
Master is the highest honor of membership and is conferred on a Fellow who has made significant contributions to the field of Pediatrics and has been an active member of the College in good standing for at least five years. A minimum of three Fellows must submit nominations in writing for a candidate to the Board of Directors, and election to Master must be approved by a two thirds affirmative vote.
Annual Dues: same as Fellow
A candidate for Emeritus Fellow in the American College of Pediatricians shall satisfy the following criteria:
1. Has reached the age of sixty-five (65)
and held continuous membership for ten (10) years; or
2. Has retired from practice because of illness or other reason acceptable to the Board of Directors.
3. Emeritus Fellows may vote, serve on committees and hold office.
4. Annual Dues: $125.00
An applicant for Candidate Fellow in the American College of Pediatricians shall satisfy the following criteria:
1. Completion of a pediatric training program that is approved for credit toward certification from the American Board of Pediatrics or the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics.
2. Demonstration of evidence of high ethical and professional standing.
3. Candidate Fellows shall not have the privilege to vote or hold office, but may serve on committees.
4. Annual Dues: $125.00
An applicant for Training Fellow in the American College of Pediatricians shall satisfy the following criteria:
1. Enrollment in a pediatric internship or residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
2. Demonstration of evidence of high ethical and professional standing.
3. Training Fellows shall not have the privilege to vote, hold office, but may serve on committees
4. Annual Dues: $25.00
Any individual who has made an exceptional contribution to child health or to the College may be elected to Honorary Fellowship. Fellows may submit nominations in writing to the Board of Trustees, who shall elect by unanimous affirmative vote. Honorary Fellows shall not have the privilege to vote, hold office, or serve on committees.
Annual Dues: None
An applicant for Associate Membership in the American College of Pediatricians shall satisfy the following criteria:
1. Currently licensed in a healthcare profession with emphasis on the care of children.
2. Demonstration of evidence of high ethical and professional standing.
3. Associate members shall not have the privilege to vote, hold office, but may serve on committees.
4. Annual Dues: $100.00
An applicant for Medical Student in the American College of Pediatricians shall satisfy the following criteria:
1. Student enrolled in a medical school program (MD/DO) approved by the appropriate committee on medical education.
2.Medical students shall not have the privilege to vote, hold office, but may serve on committees in an ex-officio capacity.
3. Joining fee: $25.00*
*Students pay a one-time fee to join. When a student member continues on to a training position, his/her dues will be $25 per year until training is complete at which time they will increase to the next level (see above).
