Application for student scholarship to attend the annual conference

The Joseph De Cook Medical Student Scholarship is a scholarship to pay for transportation and conference costs for medical students and residents who would like to experience the Matthew Bulfin Educational Conference. http://conference.aaplog.org/

This scholarship is funded primarily by ACPeds and AAPLOG (American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians & Gynecologists) members who want to “give forward” a gift toward developing the next generation of pro-life physicians, by exposing them to the evidence based effects of abortion on women, unborn children and society; a perspective they will not obtain in medical training at most public institutions. There are also some generous private organizations who have participated in funding this scholarship from time to time.

Students who become Joe De Cook Scholars will be put in contact with an ACPeds or AAPLOG member willing to serve as their mentor-contact who will be available to that student by email, and offer a mature perspective on practicing as a pro-life obstetrician-gynecologist in this challenging time.

Requirements for Application for the Joe DeCook Scholarship:

Student must:

  • Be a student or training fellow member of ACPeds (https://www.acpeds.org/join) or AAPLOG (http://aaplog.wildapricot.org/join)
  • Submit an essay of no more than 500 words describing your background and interest in attending the Matthew Bulfin Educational Conference.
  • Submit the email addresses of at least one other professional (teacher/pastor/employer) who can write a letter of recommendation regarding your interest in pro-life issues in medicine.
  • Please submit these articles by email to admin@acpeds.org

The scholarships will be distributed on a first come-first served basis, as ACPeds and AAPLOG members contribute their sponsorship.

All scholarship applications must be received no later than September 1, 2017.
